At Platter & Slate we know that many of our clients and their guests will have special dietary needs, whether it is gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, nut free, vegan or vegetarian catering requirements.
We are happy to design menus to include free-from options to cope with food allergies and intolerances of all types. We will also work with you to exclude particular dislikes, even if not allergy related.
'Free-from' doesn't have to mean free from flavour
Wherever possible we aim to ensure that the ‘free-from’ guests receive a virtually identical version of the main menu option so that they don’t feel left out. That means house made gluten free sausage rolls instead of the standard wheat free ones, gluten free tarte au citron instead of the regular version, or simply designing a menu that leaves out problem ingredients altogether for all guests.
Free from options are not just a feature of our buffets, sharing platters and sit-down dinners. We love to devise gluten free, nut free or dairy free canapés and will rise to any dietary challenge you care to set us.
Our head chef Deanna Smith spent 3 years living entirely gluten free herself, so she is expert in preparing gluten and wheat free breads, cakes and pastry that tastes as good as or better than the standard wheat-based equivalents.
Food allergies? No problem.
All of our menus include indications of when a potential allergen is included in the ingredients, and our waiting staff are given full information so that they can answer any questions to put your guests’ minds at rest.
